"Jinbee. If we, who hold the sword which symbolizes strength, feel intimidated, then the people who we are protecting will also feel frightened. That is the most disgraceful thing to a warrior. Which is why, Jinbee... Become stronger than everyone. So that those you are protecting will never feel frightened no matter what."
These words became a guidline for Jinbee, who grew up wanting to protect with all his might. He wishes to become a strong man, stronger than anyone, so that he can protect everyone from danger, and so that he can surpass his father. Because Jinbee blames himself for his father's loss of position and carreer, and for the foot his father almost lost due to Jinbee's stupidity as a little boy. Because of this determination to become a protector and to repent for his mistakes, Jinbee is a hard-worker, always eager to learn more, to develop as a warrior, and any chance to train, he takes. Because he always wants to be stronger, no matter what he has to sacrifice to protect. Because just because he wants to be even stronger than he already is, he would not sacrifice the lives of other’s to gain that strength. After all, what meaning is there with strength if you don’t protect those who needs protaction. Besides, it is unfitting for a warrior to harm those who can not defend themselves.
His father has taught him to "always be ready for a fight" and so he has decided to be so. Not to say that he keeps his guard up at all times, because he is still inexperienced, and he knows it. He admires strong warriors and is not shy to ask to teach him their fighting styles. He’s rash and will quickly get into a fight if there is any slight reason for it, and he is a hot-blooded, stubborn warrior that refuses to go down. It is not good for a warrior to give up just because he’s met some resistance. Rather, such things exists to be overcome and taken down! In battle, he can improvize a lot, and do some really good choices when it comes to battle tactics. He doesn’t realize this, though, and only thinks of it in the heat of the moment, and by looking at his surroundings. If not in battle, he would not be able to come up with any plans at all, least of all any good plans. But he has a lot of guts, as he has trained himself to not be scared of things like touch opponents, and he is a very brave young man.
Because he comes from a village where everyone are warm and open and welcoming, he is a bit unsure how to handle situations where he’s met with coldness, like the first time when he comes to Edo, and manages to get himself lost. The moment he realizes he is lost, he thinks that he has already failed in his duty, before even starting his service. He even despairs into tears when everyone in Edo gives him the cold shoulder. So when he gets help from Oharu, he is overjoyed and thinks she is like an angel. But then he gets flushed because of her large breasts. Because despite his normal unembarrassed personality, women’s big breast’s manages to make him embarrassed and excited. In opposite, seeing a completely nude almost flat girl is nothing to him, which of course is an insult as well, most of all according to Hibachi who beats him up both for seeing her undressed and for not apologizing.
Really though, Jinbee is dumb as a brick, really. He's really not a clever person, not in the slightest, even if he learns from past experiences. Mostly, that is if it involves battles. He is a person who easily mistakes and who accidentally is unsensitive in certain aspects (like the above mentioned instance(s) with Hibachi). Unless a person states their direct feelings or opinions, he easily misinterpret people’s words. This is partly because he never lies, and states his earnest, honest feelings without feeling flushed about it. He is a morning person to an annoying degree, and in his morning routine, he loudly greets the sun and the new day, and continues by swining a stick run through heavy boulders 3000 times to keep strong. In the evening, he has to swing his weights at least 1000 times, or else he won’t be able to sleep soundly. He’s a loud person in general, and always has a lot of vigour when greeting people, and his excitement often knows no bounds.
As he is an honest man, he is quick to trust people, even if he knows that they are killers or even if they are enemies. He’s a really kind person, who likes to see people happy, and after all, he fights and want strength for the sake of protecting. He’s actually pretty popular among both the boys and girls that he knows, because he is such a nice, open minded person. He would never condemn anyone for their past, and would readily defent them from those that insist that a past crime is a current crime, even if a person is trying to make up for it. As an example, he defended his fellow government employee Koikawa Shungiku, who used to be a famous killer, by claiming that “The past is the past! And the present is the present!!” So he’s a very likable man, even if he has encountered those that dislikes the type of person that he is. But! He will not resent them for that!
Inventory: Katana, bell, food, clothes, bandages, some cloth, water gourd.
Abilities: He's incredibly physically strong, and can lift rocks twice his size. He uses two tied together on a pole for swinging practice. He's got an incredible amount of stamina and speed and he's very durable, and he's practicing to learn the Tsukishima Style sword-school art, which he's not fully trained in, but which he's still very capable with. He is, unfortunately, incredibly stupid. He's very gullible and will believe many weird lies you tell him.
He also has something called Demon Fox Mode which he doesn't know about yet. It's not like he can use it consciously yet. It happens when he is on the brink of death and has come in contact with the eternal insect or someone who has obtained its power; it's not something that happens easily. He pretty much becomes a blood lusting monster. His body changes appearance partially, but only some (like his hair turning mostly white). This mode gives him an incredible boost in physical strength, speed, durability. It even gives him the ability to move his hair at will, and the ability of flight.
Flaws: First of all, he trusts too easily. He is not very smart and is oblivious, and his honestly can cause trouble at time as well, just like how easily he trusts can.

But this really is amazing. No matter how many times I use this magical thing, I still think it is remarkable. I must show this to Koikawa-dono and the others at the Mushibugyousho when I find them.
Speaking of the Mushibugyousho! Has anyone found Edo yet? I still need to find my way back, as I have to protect the people from the bugs! [ There's a huff--he's nodding, making the sound in determination. ] I have things to do, after all, I do not actually have the time to be here! However! [ Suddenly, he's even louder. ] I will take my mission to protect the people here seriously, nevertheless! After all, it is the duty of the strong to protect those who cannot defend themselves! So! Never hesitate to ask me for any assistance, for I will not hesitate to be of help to you!

"Good morning, Otento-sama!!!" As any morning, Jinbee looked up to the sky and shouted his greetings at it with his normal vigor and excitement. Even if he was in an unfamiliar place, with none of his fellow patrol officers by his side, the young warrior was not about to be disheartened. No, on the contrary! In a place where so many things were unfamiliar, it was a must to stay vigilant and to not neglect ones training!
Problem was, he didn't have his usual boulder-covered stick. "Not a problem!" Of course not. He would just have to find a replacement to use, after all! And that was the quest of the day, as well as to familiarize himself with this new place.
As soon as he spotted someone, anyone, he hurried over, a hand raised. "Pardon me, the person over there!"
